In the year 1973 - 1974 three girls, Barkha, Rajlaxmi and Salma graduate from St. Teresa\'s girls\' hostel. They get intimate with their boyfriends, Sunil, Arjun and Akram which ended up leaving one of them pregnant; they come together, make sure the pregnant one give birth and attempt to bring up the child, Sitara on condition that the one who marry first shall adopt the child thus Sitara is left in the care of Razia who takes her to an orphanage maintained by Shantidevi.
